　当財団は、精密測定技術の振興を通じて産業の発展と社会の向上に貢献することを目指して、1985年4月1日に東京都知事の許可を得て設立されました。2012年には公益財団法人として新たなスタートを切り、より公益性の高い取り組みを進めてまいりました。

　この40年の間、私たちは「測れないものは作れない」という言葉を大切にしながら、精密測定技術の意義や可能性を広く伝えるとともに、研究助成や講演会・研究会の支援、国際交流や表彰事業などを通じて、学術と産業をつなぐ役割を果たしてまいりました。近年では、年間50件を超える研究助成を行い、日本のものづくりや科学技術を支える次世代の育成にも力を入れています。

　2025年、当財団は設立40周年という大きな節目を迎えることができました。これを機に、記念講演会の開催や特別助成枠の新設など、新たな挑戦も始まっております。こうした活動を続けてこられたのも、発起人の寄付に支えられ、多くの関係者の温かいご支援とご協力があってのことです。あらためて深く感謝申し上げます。

　精密測定技術は、今後ますます複雑で高度な課題に向き合っていく社会において、これまで以上に重要な役割を担っていくと考えています。当財団は、「測ることで、未来を拓く。」という思いを胸に、今後も産官学の連携を深めながら、若手研究者の支援や国際的な技術交流を通じて、日本の科学技術の発展に少しでもお役に立てるよう努めてまいります。

The Precise Measurement Technology Promotion Foundation

　Our foundation was established on April 1, 1985, with the permission of the Governor of Tokyo, aiming to contribute to the development of industry and the betterment of society through the promotion of precise measurement technology. In 2012, we embarked on a new chapter as a public interest incorporated foundation, advancing initiatives with greater public benefit.

　Over the past 40 years, we have cherished the motto “If you can’t measure it, you can’t make it,” and have actively promoted the significance and potential of precise measurement technology. Through research grants, support for lectures and study groups, international exchanges, and award programs, we have played a role in connecting academia and industry. Recently, we have provided over 50 research grants annually, focusing on nurturing the next generation to support Japan’s manufacturing and scientific technology.

　In 2025, our foundation will celebrate its 40th anniversary, a significant milestone. To mark this occasion, we have begun new initiatives such as hosting commemorative lectures and establishing special grant programs. These activities have been made possible thanks to the generous donations from our founders and the warm support and cooperation of many stakeholders. We sincerely express our deep gratitude.

　We believe that precise measurement technology will play an increasingly vital role in a society facing more complex and advanced challenges. With the spirit of “Measuring to open the future,” our foundation will continue to deepen collaboration among industry, government, and academia, supporting young researchers and fostering international technical exchanges to contribute, even in a small way, to the advancement of Japan’s science and technology.
